Currently, under Josep Guardiola as a head coach, the club is able to hold the top ranking in the Spanish league, followed by Real Madrid, and Valencia in the third position.

Real Madrid is known for its achievement in the league. Most of the titles since 1930 were dominated by the Madrid. Despite of their dominance in the league, Real Madrid is now at the second place after Barcelona, with the difference of 1 point. Real Madrid located in the region of Madrid.

Sevilla is another team that holds the top 5 ranking in the league since few decades back. Currently after appointing Antonio Alvarez as a coach, Sevilla still in the top 5 ranking, a point behind Mallorca. Sevilla was once relegated to the Segunda Division in the Year 2001-2002.
